How are Thread Rolling Raised Cheese Head Screws made through rolling process

2024 - 07 - 16

As an important form of metal cold processing, the core of rolling process is to use high-precision dies and rollers to apply pressure to metal materials to make them plastically deform, so as to directly form the required shape and size. Compared with traditional cutting, rolling process has higher material utilization, lower energy consumption and better surface quality. When manufacturing Thread Rolling Raised Cheese Head Screws, the advantages of rolling process are fully utilized.

1. Material selection and pretreatment
High-quality steel is selected as raw material. These steels must undergo strict chemical composition and physical property tests to ensure that they meet the requirements of screw manufacturing. Raw materials are usually supplied in the form of wire or rods. After pretreatment steps such as cutting, descaling, and cleaning, they are ready for subsequent processing.

2. Head forming
In a specific area of the rolling machine, the pretreated raw materials are head-formed through precise die design. The shape of the die is exactly the same as the head of the convex round head screw. By applying appropriate pressure, the raw material is gradually deformed into the required convex round head shape. This step requires a high degree of coordination and precise control between the mold and the raw material to ensure the consistency and beauty of the head shape.

3. Thread rolling
After the head is formed, the raw material enters the thread rolling area, which is equipped with multiple precision-designed rollers that rotate at a specific angle and speed to apply continuous rolling pressure to the raw material. Under the action of pressure, the surface of the raw material undergoes plastic deformation and gradually forms a uniform thread. The thread generated by the rolling process has higher strength and better wear resistance because the material is compacted and strengthened during the deformation process, reducing the possibility of microcracks and stress concentration.

4. Tail cutting and trimming
According to the specifications of the screw, the tail of the raw material after rolling is cut to form a suitable length. The head and thread part of the screw are further trimmed and polished to eliminate burrs and unevenness generated during the processing process and improve the surface finish and dimensional accuracy of the screw.

5. Quality inspection and packaging
Finally, the manufactured Thread Rolling Raised Cheese Head Screws are strictly inspected for quality. This includes appearance inspection, dimension measurement, torque testing and other aspects to ensure that each screw meets the design requirements and usage standards. After passing the quality inspection, the screws will be packaged and put into storage.
